This isn’t a golf review. But it is about a product from a golf brand.
I felt compelled to write it because it’s not that often a new product makes it into my daily rotation.
When you first hear the phrase pull-on jeans, your reaction might be similar to mine: a confused mix of curiosity and skepticism. Are we talking about adult jeggings? Something from a 90s workout video?
But here’s the thing: Redvanly’s Ranstead jeans are legit. These aren’t some novelty item or fashion gimmick—they’re some of the most comfortable, stylish, and surprisingly versatile pants I’ve worn in years.
After living in them for the better part of a month—including a 24-hour travel day to Vietnam—I can confidently say: I’m all in on pull-on denim.
Let’s dive into what makes these pants so unexpectedly great.
First Impressions: Wait… These Are Jeans?
Straight out of the package, the Ranstead jeans don’t feel like your typical denim. They’re soft, stretchy, and lightweight—but still somehow look like a premium pair of slim-cut jeans. The first time I put them on, I had to do a double take. This is what sweatpants wish they looked like.
The charcoal wash stood out immediately—rich, versatile, and modern without trying too hard. The washed indigo is a bit more traditional, great for that classic blue jean vibe. Some of the lighter colors like Quiet Gray and Air felt a little out of my comfort zone style-wise (80s revival, anyone?), but that could just be my lack of fashion boldness talking.
Fit & Feel: Slim, Not Tight—and Crazy Comfortable
Here’s the magic of the Ranstead: the fit is dialed. They’re slim without being restrictive, with just enough taper to look clean, but not so much that you feel like you’re squeezing into something meant for a 20-year-old influencer.
I’m literally wearing them as I type out this review. Apologies for not having better photos of me modeling, but trust me, it’s probably for the best.
The waistband is elastic, yes—but it’s subtle. You won’t see a bunch of scrunching or a weird gathered look. It just fits. Whether you’ve added a few pounds over the holidays or you’re between sizes, this kind of stretch denim is a game-changer. Especially if you’re at the stage of life where “comfort” ranks just below “style” and maybe even above “scorecard.”
Everyday Performance: Travel-Tested and Tee-Time Friendly (Mostly)
These pants aren’t just for lounging. I’ve worn them on international flights, to casual dinners, and yes—even on the golf course. They held up on a 30-hour travel day to Vietnam, and by some miracle, they didn’t smell, sag, or stretch out. That’s borderline witchcraft in the world of travel clothes.
From a comfort and performance standpoint, you can absolutely golf in these. They move with you, breathe well, and won’t bunch or bind mid-swing. At your local muni or more laid-back course, you’re likely good to go.
That said, these do still look like jeans—and if you’re playing a nicer private club or anywhere with a strict dress code, you’ll probably want to leave these at home. In those cases, Redvanly’s more golf-specific pants like the Bradley or Kent would be a smarter (and safer) pick.
Is $175 Worth It? Here’s the Verdict
At $175, the Ranstead jeans aren’t cheap. But after wearing them almost every day since I got them, I can say this: they’ve easily earned their place in my top rotation. If cost-per-wear is your metric, I’ve already gotten my money’s worth—and then some.
They’re the kind of pants that make you rethink what “jeans” even means. And if you’ve already tried Redvanly’s pull-on golf shorts (which are also fantastic), the transition to these will feel totally natural.
Yes, these shorts are expensive at $110. And yes, they're "pull on" golf shorts. But once you wear them, you'll want to run right back out and buy another pair.
Final Thoughts: Surprisingly Awesome, and Worth the Hype
Redvanly’s Ranstead jeans are a perfect example of a product that sounds gimmicky—but delivers in a big way. They look like jeans, feel like your favorite joggers, and perform well enough to earn a permanent spot in your travel, work, or even golf rotation.
If you’re skeptical? I was too. But give them a shot. You might find yourself reaching for these more than any other pair you own.
Pull on stretchy jeans? Sounds weird, right? Maybe borderline sacrilege for a denim purist. Despite that, I wear these almost everyday, and am a total fan.
They may not be for the purists, but these jeans are fantastic.
The idea of pull on, stretchy jeans is going to be an immediate turn off to a lot of people. But if you give these a chance, you might fall in love with them just like I have.
